L'âge d'or de la rumba congolaise
Ce double album est une sélection des meilleurs titres produits et enregistrés à Abidjan (au Studio JBZ en 1997 et 1999) et à Kinshasa (au Studio Meko en 2002).
C’est un ultime témoignage et un hommage à une des plus belles musiques nées sur le Continent Africain à l’aube des Indépendances. L’ «Âge d’Or» de la Rumba Congolaise correspond à cette période charnière de l’histoire des deux Congos.
Les deux grandes figures historiques de la Rumba (Wendo Kolosoy, l’enfant de Kinshasa, et Antoine Moundanda, celui de Brazzaville sur l’autre rive du fleuve Congo), le Victoria Bakolo Miziki, le Likembé Géant, et le Rumbenella Band (composé de jeunes musiciens) se livrent à une relecture passionnée du patrimoine culturel des deux grandes capitales congolaises.

The golden age of congolese rumba
Recorded in Abidjan at the Studio JBZ in 1997 and in 1999 , in Kinshasa at Studio Meko in 2002, this double CD is the ultimate testimonial to the golden age of one of the most beautiful music genres that stemmed from the African continent at the dawn of the independences.
Two great historical figures of rumba, Wendo Kolosoy –a child of Kinshasa– and Antoine Moundanda –hailing from Brazzaville on the other side of the Congo River- along with Victoria Bakolo Miziki, Likembe Geant and the Rumbanella Band reinterpret the cultural heritage of the two Congolese capital cities with passion and talent.
With its suave voices, elegant guitars, sensual melodies and light swing, the rumba is to Africa what the son is to Cuba: a miracle of balance.
